I don’t know too much about Jan Mette except what I’ve been able to read about him [link] [link]. He was a founding member of Chakra, a LiveCD environment based on KDE and the Arch Linux distribution, which he was also a significant contributor. One of Debian’s great contributors died on December 26th in a traffic accident. His contributions to Debian and the Linux community were many. The Debian Project will be dedicating the latest stable release, 5.0 Lenny, to Thiemo. See the links above for more detailed information about his achievements and contact info.
