Hulu releases a Linux version of their client.

You can now get Hulu content streamed straight to your Linux desktop with Hulu’s new Linux Client. They offer packages for either 32-bit or 64-bit Fedora 9+ and Ubuntu 8.04+. You will still need to have Adobe Flash Player installed. If you can watch videos at Hulu.com than you should be able to watch them with the client.

I’ve been using it on my Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic installation and I must say that it is pretty decent. Navigating through the menus is easy enough and the layout is well organized. Untested by me, the client can be used with LIRC supported remote controls. Everything is self-contained within the window giving a nice, clean presentation. The only missing feature seems to be having the video displayed in full screen. [*]

Kudos to Hulu for showing some Linux love.

* UPDATE: Found out how to display full screen right after I published the post. Maximizing the window frames it between the panels, but clicking on the client will make it fill the entire the screen. Two new buttons appear in the upper-right corner to either unmaximize the client or close it.
