Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn Reaches End Of Life
Source … Ubuntu.com
As we anticipate the arrival of the Intrepid Ibex at the end of October, we bid farewell to Gutsy Gibbon Feisty Fawn. Ubuntu announced that Gutsy’s Feisty’s life will come to an end on October 19, 2008. An entire 18 months will have passed by then since Gutsy’s Feisty’s release on April 19, 2007. Interim versions are only supported for 18 months while LTS versions, such as 8.10 Hardy Heron, are given a full 36 months of support for desktop users.
Users of 7.04 are urged to upgrade to at least 7.10 to continue receiving security updates.
UPDATE: Uhmmmm yeah…. Still in reference to 7.04, but the codename is really Feisty Fawn, NOT Gutsy Gibbon. It apparently didn’t dawn on me at the time I wrote this and never noticed since then. Thanks to Bagoj úr for pointing out the error. I did correctly identify codenames in a more recent post. I promise, my proofreading and fact-checking has improved significantly since this post. I wish I could say the same for my typing.

Pardon me but Gutsy Gibbon is 7.10 not 7.04 and it will be supported till 04/2009. You mean Feisty Fawn I suppose…
