I mentioned back in January that Ubuntu’s releases will be meeting a number of milestones this year. Just five days prior to the release of Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon will be put to rest.

Ubuntu News posted the announcement that Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon will reach its End Of Life status on April 18, 2009 thus ending any further support for that release. Users of Ubuntu 7.10 are encouraged to upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 LTS to continue receiving security and critical updates. The link on the announcement page explaining how to upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Hardy Heron is a bit broken, but you can reach it by following this correct link until it gets fixed.
